Human Resources Generalist

Key Responsibilities

• Support local field staff recruiting efforts, including hiring events and initiatives
• Manage pre-employment processes, including background checks, drug screenings, and related requirements
• Cook up and facilitate onboarding for field and office employees
• Conduct new hire orientations and maintain onboarding documentation and personnel files
• Ensure compliance with federal requirements by maintaining and processing I-9 records
• Support seasonal workforce processes, including rehires and layoffs
• Aid employees with benefits enrollment and respond to benefit-related inquiries
• Assist with leave programs, including FMLA, state leaves, and company policies
• Drive employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs
• Conduct new hire check-ins to assess satisfaction and engagement
• Perform exit interviews and analyze feedback trends to improve retention
• Maintain accurate employee data within Workday HRIS
• Support additional HR projects and initiatives as assigned

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of Human Resources experience required
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
• Experience with onboarding processes, I-9 compliance, and E-Verify preferred
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with Workday HRIS preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build relationships while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

Work Environment

Position is based out of the Allendale, NJ location 3 days per week, and will support Basking Ridge, NJ location onsite 2 days per week.
