Human Resources Director
About the role
The HR Director will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all aspects of Human Resources across the organization. This role is responsible for driving HR initiatives that align with business objectives while fostering a positive, high-performing, and compliant workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute HR strategies that support organizational goals and business growth
- Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Partner with leadership to support workforce planning and organizational development initiatives
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for employee relations matters
- Address employee concerns with professionalism, fairness, and confidentiality
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment
Performance Management & Talent Development
- Design and manage performance evaluation processes that encourage continuous feedback and professional growth
- Support leadership development, employee coaching, and succession planning initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve employee engagement and retention
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll
- Oversee compensation structures and benefits programs to ensure market competitiveness and compliance
- Partner with payroll and benefits providers to ensure accurate and timely administration
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements to employee benefit offerings
Compliance & HR Operations
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee records
- Lead HR best practices and process improvements across the organization
Reporting & Analytics
- Analyze HR metrics and workforce data to support strategic decision-making
- Prepare reports and recommendations for senior leadership
- Monitor key HR performance indicators and identify trends
Team Leadership
- Lead and support the HR teams located in Michigan and Florida
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for HR staff
Location and Schedule
This is a full-time, office-based position in a modern, cozy environment in our Troy, MI office. Our standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR management experience, including leadership responsibilities
Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, compliance, and employee relations
Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills
HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred
Mortgage services industry experience highly preferred
