Responsibilities

  • Processes semi-monthly payroll for exempt, non-exempt, and hourly employees, including reviewing timecards for accuracy.
  • Maintains employee records, HRIS data, and personnel files in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Supports employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and responding to routine employee questions.
  • Affords assistance to employees with leave-of-absence paperwork and tracks documentation related to medical leave, FMLA, disability, and personal leave requests.
  • Collaborates in onboarding activities for new hires, including preparing orientation materials, assigning equipment, and scheduling onboarding sessions.
  • Prepares employment-related documents such as separation notices, verification requests, employee letters, and memos.
  • Affords support in maintaining compliance postings, reports, and documentation required for audits and regulatory requirements.
  • Runs standard HR and payroll reports as requested by management.
  • Supports annual open enrollment activities and assists with system updates and employee communications.
  • Affords support in monitoring pre-employment requirements such as background checks, MVR reporting, and required employee documentation.
  • Runs pre-employment and in-service background checks including MVR reports, fingerprint checks.
  • Provides general administrative support to the HR department, including filing, scanning, record maintenance, and data entry.
  • Affords support in employee engagement activities, wellness initiatives, recognition programs, and company events.
  • Supports payroll and benefits audits by gathering documentation and reviewing records for accuracy.
  • Affords support in ACA, OSHA, W-2 corrections, and other compliance-related administrative tasks as needed.
  • Responds to employment verification requests and routine employee inquiries.
  • Provides backup support for front desk, including lunch breaks and absences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least five years related experience required; HR department support preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • High level of collaboration in peer relationships.
  • Focus on welcoming and service mindset for internal customers.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to the needs of clients who are present in the office.
  • Forward-thinking and proactive in work matters.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS.
