About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and compassionate HR Assistant Manager to join our team. This position assists the HR Director with the implementation and maintenance of Payroll and HR policies and procedures to serve the employees of the facility. It is ideal for someone ready to grow their HR career while making a meaningful impact on both employees and residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing the payroll function for all facility employees.
  • Monitor and maintain sick and vacation time balances within the payroll system.
  • Maintain payroll, human resources, and medical files on each active and terminated employee according to facility, state, and federal guidelines on document retention.
  • Maintain and ensure up-to-date Nursing licenses and certifications (e.g. RN, LPN, QMA, & CNA).
  • Assist the HR Director, Administrator, and department heads with hiring needs.
  • Direct, implement, and oversee the online scheduling program.
  • Maintain a filing system for completed applications that meets both EEO expectations and Facility record retention guidelines.
  • Process new hire background check requirements and verify work eligibility.
  • Set up and process new hire physical, drug screen, and TB requirements; input and file new hire paperwork such as the I-9, tax forms, direct deposit forms, and benefit enrollments (life, health, dental).
  • Set up and perform new hire orientations for incoming employees.
  • Coordinate communications and education on the facility’s 401K (profit sharing) program and entry requirements.
  • Coordinate FMLA applications with employees and department managers.
  • Coordinate Workman’s Compensation claims reporting and procedures.
  • Serve as the facility contact for TLC Management Human Resources for all unemployment hearings.
  • Maintain all state and federal posters required by law to be posted as well as OSHA 300 and EEO-1 logs.
  • Assure that any updates to the employee handbook are delivered to each employee.
  • Assist the HR Director, Administrator, and Department Heads in education, policies, and discipline as needed.
  • Attend and participate in general orientation, in-service education, staff meetings, workshops, seminars, and in-services as approved and directed.
  • Participate in Management Team responsibilities, including weekend manager duties.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

  • One (1) year of Human Resources experience and/or at least 2 years of experience with payroll systems and related software programs (desired but not required).
  • An Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (desired but not required).
