About the role

First Capital Bank is seeking a dedicated HR/Payroll Administrator to join our dynamic team. This position will be based in Summerville or Mount Pleasant, with the possibility of a hybrid work schedule.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED, with a college degree preferred
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a Human Resources/payroll position
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Must live within commuting distance of the Charleston metro area
  • Prior professional experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry is preferred

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Routinely download/retrieve HR vendor invoices, review for accuracy, and ensure prompt distribution to Accounts Payable
  • Oversee biweekly timecard review after supervisor approval
  • Biweekly payroll processing for approximately 100 employees (in collaboration with the HR Director and Accounting Team)
  • Submit 401(K) remittance for regularly scheduled pay dates and special runs
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all transactions impacting payroll as well as supporting documentation
  • Timely completion of a monthly audit trail report for review by the CAO
  • Serve as the first line of response for employees experiencing HRIS access and navigation issues
  • Provide recruiting support to Hiring Managers
  • Prepare offer letters, notify relevant departments about incoming employees, and coordinate first-day logistics
  • Prepare reports in response to audit requests from other departments
  • Conduct HR onboarding meetings with new hires (including I9 and tax form completion, benefits, policies, and procedures overview)
  • Handle adverse action documentation and participate in adverse action conversations
  • Accurately and promptly handle all administrative tasks related to employee promotions and position changes
  • Assist with creation and posting of community announcements
  • Take ownership of all administrative tasks related to the Bank's registration as an employer in 4 additional states

ANNUAL & AD HOC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train new timecard reviewers
  • Assist with open enrollment
  • Assist with the administration of annual performance evaluations
  • Assist with HR and payroll audits
  • Other tasks as assigned
