Essential Functions
- Aid the human resources manager with the day-to-day operations of the department.
- Assist with the hiring process as needed, including posting jobs, reviewing applications, assisting hiring managers, performing credit and background checks, and arranging pre-employment drug screens.
- Perform the onboarding of new hires and complete all required paperwork.
- Maintain data in HRIS for employee benefits, rate of pay, and employment status.
- Aid with the timely submission of payroll data for semi-monthly and monthly payroll processing.
- Maintain employee files in a confidential and secure manner.
- Support employee orientation, development, and recordkeeping.
- Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
- Aid in the administration of employee benefit programs and worker's compensation plans.
- Review and pay monthly benefit bills.
- Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
- Assist with various special projects as needed.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Education and Experience Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two years of progressively responsible human resources, recruitment, benefits administration, or payroll related experience are preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft family of programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is required.
- The position requires excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills both oral and written.
- Confidentiality is critical.
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking, and the reporting of financial data is preferred.
