About the role
HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) division employs more than 25,000 people, including multiple generations of shipbuilders, and is the largest industrial employer in Virginia. NNS is the sole designer, builder, and refueler of U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and one of two providers of U.S. Navy nuclear submarines. The team spans skilled trades, project managers, engineers, software developers, solution architects, technical subject‑matter experts, and system users, working at the forefront of technology, manufacturing, and integration of the world’s most powerful and survivable naval ships.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of general personnel/clerical tasks in areas such as employee records, benefits, education/training, employment, compensation, and equal employment opportunity.
- Maintains both manual and automated personnel records.
- Collects and compiles sensitive and confidential personnel statistics and prepares reports.
- Furnishes information to authorized persons and/or agencies in accordance with procedures.
- Provides information to all levels of employees regarding personnel policies and procedures.
Requirements
High School/GED and 4 years of additional education and/or experience.

Pay
Salary range: $49,000.00 to $62,000.00 (estimated base pay; final compensation based on experience, qualifications, and other job‑related factors).
Schedule
Full‑time, 1st shift.
