About the role

The Human Resources Generalist supports consistent, compliant people practices for our Oshkosh, WI manufacturing site. This role exists to ensure HR policies and procedures are applied fairly, risks are managed, and employees and leaders receive timely guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Administer HR policies and ensure alignment with federal, state, and local requirements (OSHA, FMLA, EEO, FLSA, unemployment, substance abuse, and related laws)
  • Lead recruiting and hiring: sourcing, job description review, interviews/testing, offers, transfers/promotions, onboarding/orientation, and I-9/E-Verify
  • Manage employee relations matters through thorough investigations, recommendations, and follow-through
  • Support performance management and pay-for-performance training efforts
  • Track incident reports, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and leaves of absence
  • Maintain personnel files, site access/security cards, and meeting documentation; partner with corporate benefits for program delivery

Requirements

  • 7+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication, discretion, and working knowledge of employment law

How your day flows

You’ll work onsite Monday–Friday, balancing planned HR work with real-time needs from the floor and front office. Mornings often begin by reviewing open items—attendance questions, documentation updates, or status checks on leaves, claims, and incident logs—then aligning with supervisors on priorities. Midday may include scheduled interviews, new-hire orientation touchpoints, or coordinating E-Verify and payroll system enrollment. As issues arise, you’ll shift into confidential conversations, fact-finding, and documenting next steps. You’ll also spend time keeping records current (digital and physical), preparing notes/minutes from meetings, and coordinating with corporate partners to keep programs running smoothly. Throughout the day, you’ll be a steady, detail-focused point of contact for employees and leaders alike.
