About the role

Minneapolis Golf Club is a historic, private 18-hole course located in St. Louis Park. Founded in 1916, it is home to an inclusive community that enjoys superior golf and engaging social activities. We are hiring a Human Resources Coordinator to originate and lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture emphasizing empowerment, quality, productivity, standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

The Human Resources Coordinator coordinates the implementation of services, policies, and programs through the Controller, reports to the Controller, and assists and advises MGC managers about Human Resources issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manages employee onboarding/offboarding process
  • Employment and compliance, regulatory concerns, and reporting
  • Employee orientation, development, and training
  • Policy development and documentation
  • Employee relations
  • Company employee communication
  • Benefits and medical administration and reconciliation
  • Manage employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health programs
  • Manage LOA processes, documentation, and communication
  • HRIS systems implementation and maintenance of benefit databases
  • Leads talent acquisition initiatives and recruiting
  • Regular updates to employee handbook with aid of legal counsel
  • Directs and administers team programs and activities
  • Assists in managing and resolving complex employee relations issues; conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Competence in various Human Resources functional areas: recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, and organizational development
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to Human Resources
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional manner
  • Demonstrates an elevated level of judgment and discretion
  • Self-starter with a "let's get things done" attitude
  • High sense of urgency, initiative, and common sense
  • Professional and courteous manner with the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, prioritizing and organizing workload to meet deadlines
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work well in an environment subject to changing priorities and demands
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline is required

Qualifications

  • Experience in the hospitality industry (preferred)
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification (preferred)
