What Will You Do?
- Conduct internal audits and compliance reviews of HR processes, policies, and documentation to ensure alignment with applicable employment laws and company standards
- Identify compliance risks and gaps; recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain documentation and records to support audit readiness and regulatory inquiries
- Support the development, review, and maintenance of HR policies to ensure compliance with evolving employment law requirements
- Partner with leadership to ensure consistent interpretation and application of HR policies
- Support the design, coordination, and tracking of compliance-related training programs (e.g., harassment prevention, code of conduct, workplace policies, employee handbook policies)
- Monitor training completion and partner with stakeholders to address gaps
- Contribute to awareness initiatives that promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct
- Develop and maintain compliance dashboards, metrics, and reporting tools to monitor key risk indicators
- Track trends (e.g., audit findings, training completion, policy violations) and provide insights to leadership
- Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Legal, and other internal teams to ensure compliant employment practices
- Support internal and external audits, investigations, and regulatory inquiries as needed
- Contribute to HR transformation initiatives by improving compliance-related workflows and controls
What You Need?
- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, Compliance, Audit, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to: FLSA, FMLA, Title VII, State and local labor laws
- Experience supporting HR audits, compliance reviews, or policy governance initiatives preferred
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- High attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- The ability to interpret regulations and translate them into practical HR guidance and practices
- Experience writing, reviewing, or maintaining HR policies and standard operating procedures
- Experience ensuring compliance across multi-state environments
- Preferred: Experience with paid sick leave laws, Experience with HRIS platforms such as UKG, Experience supporting internal or external audits (e.g., DOL, EEOC, OFCCP, OSHA), Familiarity with state-specific compliance requirements (e.g., CA, WA, IL, etc.)
