Human Capital Data Scientist
About the role
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Human Capital Data Scientist (GS-1560-12) to work at the Air Force Headquarters (AFHQ), Air Force Manpower Analysis Agency (AFMAA), Business Analytics (MMSD), Joint Base San Antonio – Randolph AFB, TX.

Qualifications and requirements
The incumbent will serve as a data scientist enabling human capital planning through the collection, analysis, and visualization of structured and unstructured manpower and personnel data. Utilizes the application of mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, machine learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or scientific methods by leveraging big data principles and advanced data science techniques to identify trends and activity indicators undetectable by traditional methods. These insights inform human capital initiatives to acquire, develop, and sustain the workforce.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security clearance.

- Knowledge of a broad range of mathematics, statistical analysis, and/or other data science principles, techniques and tools to include data-driven algorithms, qualitative and quantitative statistical methods, data analytics, data modeling and simulation, data visualization, IT systems, and emerging technologies to include artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- Skill in applying analytical and evaluation techniques to identify, investigate, resolve complex issues or problems, and modify standard practices and techniques to solve complex interrelated problems.
- Skill to perform data collection and analytic techniques in support of command requirements.
- Skill and ability to foresee the impact of changing technology.
- Ability to visualize data using systems such as advanced Excel pivot tables/charts, Power BI Dashboards, Tableau dashboards, Envision, and Databricks data connections/data cleaning/scripting.
