About the Role

Notrax, a Justrite Safety Group company, is seeking a Human Resource & Safety Manager for its Moselle, MS operations. This full-time, exempt position will assist in developing and maintaining policies and programs related to human resources and safety. The role involves close collaboration with upper management to ensure the success of these programs and alignment with the Industrial Matting Unit strategy as well as the JSG corporate strategy. This position reports to the HR Business Partner with a dotted line to the Regional Safety Manager and offers opportunities for advancement within 3-5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Human Resource Functions: Direct and coordinate HR functions in accordance with corporate policy and procedures, adding value in areas such as compliance, safety and health, staffing, employee and labor relations, performance, training, and development.
  • Strategy, Policy and Procedures: Maintain policies and procedures that align with the business unit, JSG corporate, and labor relations strategy.
  • Employee Relations: Foster employee relations initiatives and a culture of empowerment and continuous improvement. Promote an open-door environment to ensure positive employee relations and services. Provide a fair and unbiased work environment. Manage HRIS system, including processing bi-weekly payroll, orientation, on-boarding/off-boarding, recruiting support, and performance management.
  • Health & Safety: Assist in maintaining health and safety programs for all facets of the facility. Recommend measures to reduce or eliminate workplace hazards. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and appropriate safety training. Maintain site-specific environmental permits and manage hazardous waste streams for proper disposal. Lead monthly safety meetings.
  • Workers' Compensation: Assist the EHS Regional Manager with managing workers' compensation claims and make recommendations to advance the facility's workers' compensation strategy. Support incident and near-miss investigations. Update EHSInsight portal. Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and regulatory employment laws.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Human Resources or a relevant field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources Management and Labor Relations.
  • Knowledgeable in employment law at the state and federal levels.
  • Ability to interact and execute at all levels of the company.

Skills

  • Experience in coaching at all levels with a track record for change management.
  • Experience as an HR leader in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple obligations, meet deadlines under pressure, and demonstrate self-discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to create options for overcoming roadblocks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player mindset; flexible and able to adjust to shifting priorities with a positive "can-do" attitude.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including knowledge of Excel, Word, and HRIS.

Pay

The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $90,000 to $115,000. Actual base salaries may vary based on factors such as location, relevant experience, and performance. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on Justrite Safety Group and business unit achievements of annual targets.
