Responsibilities

  • Plant-Level Quality Execution & Control (Primary Emphasis):
    • Serve as the owner of plant-level Quality Management System (QMS) execution, ensuring consistent application of procedures, controls, and standards across manufacturing sites.
    • Drive process discipline and adherence to standard work, integrating quality into operations.
    • Implement and sustain in-process quality controls, including critical control points, inspections, and process monitoring to prevent defects.
    • Lead efforts to improve process capability (Cp/Cpk), reduce off-spec creation, scrap, and enhance First Pass Prime performance.
    • Manage customer complaints and non-conformance processes, ensuring robust root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions.
    • Partner with plant leadership, operations, and maintenance teams to resolve chronic quality issues.
    • Ensure effective use of real-time data and metrics to monitor quality performance and drive immediate action.
    • Maintain and enforce clear, practical, and auditable procedures and work instructions.
  • Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence:
    • Lead site-level problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured RCA methodologies.
    • Drive initiatives focused on defect elimination, waste reduction, and variation control.
    • Facilitate Gemba-based engagement to identify improvement opportunities and reinforce quality standards.
    • Support the implementation of the Operational Excellence model, embedding quality principles into daily operations.
  • Quality Systems & Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 or IATF 16949, emphasizing practical application at the operational level.
    • Act as the site's Quality Management Representative (QMR), reporting on QMS performance and promoting customer focus.
    • Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, translating findings into actionable improvements.
    • Drive the transition to a standardized global QMS, ensuring consistency across sites.
    • Lead the Quality Network to share best practices and standardize successful approaches.
  • HSE & Safe Operations Integration:
    • Lead HSE initiatives focused on safe manufacturing processes and risk elimination.
    • Ensure HSE controls are integrated into daily operations, including procedures, training, and accountability systems.
    • Develop and track site-level HSE performance metrics, aligning with operational and quality objectives.
    • Champion incident prevention, near-miss reporting, and corrective actions.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate HSE requirements.
  • Culture & Capability Building:
    • Build and sustain a culture where quality and safety are core operational priorities.
    • Develop and coach plant teams on quality tools, process control methods, and problem-solving techniques.
    • Reinforce accountability for meeting quality and HSE expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 6+ years as a quality owner.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position is $107,600-$134,500. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
