HSE Superintendent

About the role

Ensure workplace health and safety by identifying risks, recommending protective measures, and maintaining compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Suspend activities that pose threats to workers' health and safety.
• Recommend protective measures against hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
• Investigate workplace accidents to identify causes and prevent recurrence.
• Assess ventilation, exhaust systems, lighting, and other environmental factors affecting health and performance.
• Develop and maintain hygiene programs.
• Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with the Project Engineer to implement control/remedial measures for hazardous conditions or equipment.
• Conduct safety training and education programs; demonstrate proper use of safety equipment.
• Provide health and safety orientations for new employees; prepare relevant materials.
• Collect samples of dust, gases, vapors, and other toxic substances for analysis.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the GCC/MENA region.
• Bachelor’s Degree OR Technical Diploma (3-year course) in a relevant engineering field.
• NEBOSH IGC certification.
• Certification in one of the following: IOSH Managing Safety, OSHA 30 Hours, or a Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety from an accredited institution.
• Valid and current First Aid Certification.
