HSC Adjunct Faculty Member - Accelerated BSN - San Antonio

About the role

The Adjunct Instructor - Accelerated BSN position is a non-tenure-track faculty position that provides didactic and/or clinical teaching support for the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Program within the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Nursing. The position supports student learning and academic success through instruction, evaluation, and collaboration with course faculty and program leadership. The Adjunct Instructor serves as a subject matter resource within assigned content areas and contributes to the achievement of the School of Nursing’s educational mission. An ideal candidate for this position would be a practicing nurse who is passionate about student success and enjoys teaching, mentoring, and evaluating nursing students in clinical, classroom, and simulation settings. Must reside in the San Antonio area.

Responsibilities

• Is a non-tenure position providing didactic or clinical teaching support for the Accelerated BSN Program.
• Reports directly to the Accelerated BSN Program Director.
• Assists with didactic and clinical instruction and/or evaluation in a specified clinical area or in the simulation lab, as assigned.
• Provides feedback to faculty regarding student performance and learning achievements.
• Provides subject matter expertise on course content, as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the academic mission of the Health Sciences Center and the School of Nursing.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in baccalaureate nursing education.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
• Licensure: Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.

Preferred Qualifications

Awareness of current issues/trends in nursing and higher education.
