The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport and a commitment to fostering the athletic and personal development of student-athletes. The coach will be responsible for planning and executing practices, organizing competitions, and promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for the Football team, including daily practices, conditioning, and skill development.
- Coach and mentor student-athletes, focusing on both individual and team skills. Encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
- Prepare the team for games and tournaments, including strategic planning, match preparation, and in-game coaching.
- Work with school administration to recruit and retain student-athletes for the program.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with athletes, parents, and school administration. Provide regular updates on team progress, schedule changes, and other relevant information.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, league regulations, and safety protocols. Keep accurate records of practices, matches, and player performance.
Certification
- Must hold a valid State of Connecticut Coaching Certification.
- First Aid, CPR, and Concussion Certification are required.
Experience
- Previous coaching experience in Football, preferably at the high school or collegiate level, is highly desirable.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of techniques, strategies, and rules.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively teach and develop players.
Personal Attributes
- Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for performing the responsibilities of the position.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.
Background Check
- Must pass a background check and meet any additional requirements set by the school or district.
Weather Conditions
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
Schedule
- Must be able to work in after-school hours and weekends for practices and games.
