About the role

Join Michels as an HR Manager – HR Systems and take ownership of the Workday experience that powers our people operations. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for managing all Workday functionality, enhancements, and HR support tickets, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for our HR partners and employees across the organization. You’ll drive continuous improvement, optimize system capabilities, and serve as the strategic bridge between HR and technology—helping scale our processes to support a growing, nationwide workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the organization's Workday platform, ensuring alignment with HR and business priorities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the HR Systems team responsible for Workday administration, configuration, enhancements, and end-user support.
  • Oversee the intake, prioritization, and resolution of HR systems support tickets while maintaining service level expectations.
  • Manage the planning, testing, and deployment of Workday biannual releases, new functionality, and system enhancements.
  • Oversee Workday security roles, business processes, integrations, and reporting capabilities.
  • Lead system implementation projects, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives from planning through execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (preference to HR) or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources Systems (HRIS) experience, including significant experience administering Workday.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing HR Systems or HRIS teams.
  • Deep knowledge of Workday HCM, including business processes, security, reporting, and system configuration.
  • Experience supporting multiple Workday functional areas such as Core HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Time Tracking, Learning, or Absence Management.
  • Experience leading Workday implementations, enhancements, or optimization initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of HR operations and best practices.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience creating reports, dashboards, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization preferred.
