HR Service Center Representative

About the role

Join the Worthington People Center as the first point of contact for HR inquiries across all corporate and manufacturing locations. This hybrid role (3 days/week on-site at our Columbus, OH headquarters) supports employees, families, candidates, and HR Business Partners through the entire employee life cycle, including payroll, onboarding, and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming HR inquiries via phone or email, providing timely resolutions or connecting individuals with the right resources.
• Assist with employee life-cycle events such as compensation, benefits, pre-employment, onboarding, and compliance processes.
• Maintain and improve HR knowledge databases, identify trends, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with HR Business Partners and support teams to ensure smooth workflows and optimal employee support.
• Build expertise across HR functions to help employees navigate systems, processes, and policies.
• Leverage automation and AI-enabled tools to streamline HR processes, improve response times, and enhance the employee support experience.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of previous experience in Human Resources or a related field.
• Understanding of HR processes such as benefits, payroll, onboarding, and compliance.
• Proficiency in HR systems and tools with the ability to learn new technologies.
• Customer-focused mindset with strong follow-up, attention to detail, and prioritization/time management skills.
• Clear, professional, and adaptable communication for various audiences.
• Analytical mindset to troubleshoot issues, identify patterns, and drive process improvements.
• Commitment to confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
