About the role

The HR representative is responsible for executing administrative, project, and program tasks related to the human resources function. They ensure integration and alignment of people and strategic goals, focusing on the safety and productivity of the site.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts and/or assists in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of new salaried and hourly employees.
  • Works alongside the Plant HR Manager to lead employee engagement.
  • Administers hourly discipline, including Tenneco attendance policy, code of conduct, harassment-free workplace, and other workplace rules.
  • Counsels employees when necessary.
  • Investigates union grievances and assists with arbitration preparation under the direction of the Human Resources Manager.
  • Coordinates with third-party administrators to administer FMLA and STD/LTD claim processes for all hourly and salaried employees.
  • Drives people development and coaching to enable goal cascading and elevate performance.
  • Maintains HRIS systems to ensure high-quality, accurate data and compiles data to track trends in KPIs.
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources Department in the absence of the Human Resources Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1-5 years of experience within HR function.
  • Strategic vision and communication skills.
  • Proven experience supporting operational excellence within the manufacturing environment.
  • Ownership, proactive approach.
  • Ability to act with integrity and display a high level of confidentiality.
