HR Generalist - Onsite Columbus, GA

The HR Generalist will serve as the onsite resource for our Columbus, GA manufacturing facilities, including our newest start-up chemical manufacturing facility. This role supports employee engagement and retention initiatives, coordinates HR processes, and ensures compliance with company policies and employment laws.
Responsibilities
- Process changes to maintain accurate employee data and schedules, assist employees with self-service tools, and partner with HR Shared Services/HR Operations for system enhancements.
- Act as the main point of contact to address and resolve employee concerns regarding payroll, benefits, leaves of absence (FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, Parental Leave), and other HR-related inquiries.
- Review, monitor, and audit weekly timesheets in Kronos/UKG.
- Create and update job descriptions, salary grades, and bonus eligibility for plant positions while ensuring consistency and compliance with standard practices.
- Assist managers with monitoring and evaluating employee performance and job progression.
- Support recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel, including requisition management, candidate interviews, onboarding, and new hire training.
- Attend local networking events, job fairs, and school recruiting activities to promote the company.
- Guide new hires through the onboarding process, including pre-employment requirements, I-9 completion, benefit enrollment, and initial training.
- Ensure compliant and timely off-boarding, including exit interviews, termination notifications, and system access removal.
- Assist with the implementation of HR initiatives such as performance evaluations, merit increases, and open enrollment.
- Develop local programs for reward, recognition, and ongoing communication.
- Provide day-to-day administrative, reporting, and organizational support to site leadership.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as RPM, company, and facility policies.
- Utilize HR technology systems to create, develop, and run reports as needed.
- Provide HR support for company acquisition and integration initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four- or five-year college or university, preferably in Human Resources Management, Business Management, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience (including internships) in human resources, with knowledge of HR functions across the full employee lifecycle.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with multiple sites/locations preferred.
- Valid driver's license, mandatory registration, and auto insurance.

Schedule
This is an onsite role at our Columbus, GA manufacturing facility on Corporate Ridge Drive. Regular travel by automobile to three local manufacturing facilities within a 10-mile radius is required.
Physical demands include the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear, and lift up to 25 lbs.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $57,500 to $65,000, based on employee qualifications, business needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
