About the Role

The HR Compliance Manager leads the firm’s employment compliance function, ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. This role focuses on strengthening and continuously improving HR policies, procedures, and practices through proactive risk assessment, audits, training, and advisory support. While it does not include direct people management, it requires strong ownership of compliance processes, influence across the organization, and execution of firmwide compliance initiatives. This position offers a hybrid work schedule and can be based in one of our many U.S. offices.

Responsibilities

  • Employment Law & Regulatory Compliance: Monitor, interpret, and assess changes in employment laws; ensure compliant updates to Firm policies; serve as subject matter expert; act as liaison with the Office of General Counsel.
  • Policy, Documentation & Governance: Develop, maintain, and govern HR compliance documentation; lead policy development, implementation, and communication; ensure consistent application of policies.
  • Compliance Planning, Audits & Risk Management: Maintain compliance calendar; lead internal audits; manage special projects related to compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Training, Education & Ongoing Compliance Monitoring: Oversee mandatory compliance training programs; monitor training completion; update content in response to legal changes.
  • Reporting, Metrics & Statutory Filings: Manage compliance reporting; prepare statutory filings; generate metrics reports for leadership.
  • HR Systems, Technology & Process Alignment: Partner with HR Technology, Payroll, and Benefits teams to ensure system alignment; identify gaps and recommend solutions.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Strategic Alignment: Keep leadership informed of compliance status; align compliance priorities with Firm goals; promote a compliant workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in HR compliance.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR) preferred.

Skills

  • Deep proficiency in federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Ability to interpret legal requirements and draft clear HR policies.
  • Experience conducting internal audits and identifying compliance risks.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and compliance tracking tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive information.

Pay

The expected hiring range for this position is $112,879 - $165,525 per year, depending on geographic location, experience, and qualifications.
