HR Business Partner Lead - Manufacturing Operations (Centennial, CO)

Orica is seeking a senior HR leader to partner directly with business leaders across our Specialty Mining Chemicals manufacturing operations. This high-impact role will help shape workforce strategy, build leadership capability, navigate organizational change, and influence decisions that drive business success. Based in Centennial and supporting our manufacturing operations in Winnemucca, Nevada, you will partner closely with leaders and employees to deliver practical and business focused HR solutions that strengthen business performance, workforce capability, and employee engagement.
As the primary HR Business Partner for the site, you will balance strategic business partnering with hands-on support across a range of people matters in a complex manufacturing environment. This role also partners with a small number of leaders across other functions within Speciality Mining Chemicals. You'll join a global organization undergoing transformation and growth, with the opportunity to make a visible impact while partnering with leaders across North America.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR Business Partner for the Winnemucca manufacturing operation, providing practical, day-to-day support to leaders and employees across a broad range of people matters.
- Build strong relationships with leaders and employees through onsite presence and regular engagement with the workforce.
- Partner with leaders to solve business challenges through people solutions.
- Shape workforce plans that support growth, productivity, and operational excellence.
- Coach leaders through employee relations matters, performance challenges, and organizational change.
- Build leadership capability and strengthen succession pipelines for critical roles.
- Influence talent acquisition strategies and workforce planning initiatives.

Qualifications
- 7+ years of HR Business Partner, Employee Relations, or People & Capability experience.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, operations, energy, mining, chemicals, or similarly complex environments.
- Strong employee relations and workplace investigation expertise.
- Demonstrated success leading organizational change and talent initiatives.
- Exceptional coaching, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to navigate ambiguity and build credibility at all levels of an organization.
- Knowledge of Nevada employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices is highly desirable, particularly experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, mining, or operational workforces within Nevada.
Role Details
- Location: Centennial, CO (Hybrid – minimum three days per week in office), supporting key manufacturing operations in Winnemucca, NV
- Travel: Approximately 50% travel during the first year, with regular travel to Winnemucca, NV to build relationships, establish strong partnerships with site leadership, and support local workforce initiatives. Travel is expected to reduce to approximately 30% thereafter, with Winnemucca remaining the primary travel destination.
- Leadership Scope: This is an individual contributor role with significant influence across the business; while there are no direct reports, you will partner closely with leaders and stakeholders to drive people strategy and organizational outcomes.
Compensation
- $103,125 - $144,375 USD per year
- Eligible for annual short-term incentive plan (Salary to be determined by the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
