About the Role
Chewy is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to lead the HR department at our Houston, TX fulfillment center. This role is ideal for someone who values dynamic workdays, prioritizes employee engagement, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where team members are a key asset.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team responsible for performance management, employee engagement, and talent development.
- Work with line managers and employees to address all types of employee relations issues, ensuring a balanced representation of all parties' interests.
- Provide management mentorship to build leadership capabilities and resolve employee issues.
- Assist with training as needed; own orientation and onboarding processes.
- Review and analyze data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, and employee experience.
- Facilitate compensation programs, including implementing plans based on local market data and evaluating job levels.
- Coordinate the workers' compensation program: investigate injuries, first aid incidents, and near misses, and collaborate with plant management to reduce them.
- Handle benefits administration.
- Develop and update job descriptions, rules, procedures, and policies.
- Participate in facility safety meetings, including safety committee meetings and accident investigations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience in a warehouse environment or a combination of education, training, and experience will be considered).
- 5+ years in an HR partnership role, ideally within a fulfillment, distribution center, or similarly lively work environment, with a demonstrable track record of success.
- 2+ years of experience leading an HR team.
- Proven track record of strategic partnerships that improve the HR experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and public presentation/communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Strong discernment, including problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative.
- Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results.
- Strong employee relations background.
- Ability to work efficiently with a variety of personnel.
- Position may require travel.
