About the role

Our client is seeking a versatile Recruiter / HR Assistant to support both talent acquisition and day-to-day human resources operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is approximately 50% recruiting and 50% HR administration, making it ideal for someone who enjoys balancing candidate recruitment with employee support and HR processes. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and providing excellent customer service to candidates and employees alike.

Responsibilities

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition (50%)

  • Source qualified candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and other recruiting channels.
  • Review resumes and evaluate candidates against position requirements.
  • Conduct phone screens and initial candidate assessments.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
  • Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Maintain candidate records and recruiting activity within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Extend offers and coordinate pre-employment activities, including background checks and drug screenings.
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
  • Participate in job fairs and other recruiting events as needed.

HR Administration (50%)

  • Assist with new hire onboarding, orientation, and onboarding documentation.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR records while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Process employment-related paperwork, including new hires, status changes, and terminations.
  • Enter and maintain employee information within the HRIS.
  • Assist with employee documentation.
  • Support payroll by collecting and verifying employee information and timekeeping records.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding company policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs, events, and engagement activities.
  • Assist with leave administration, workers' compensation, and unemployment documentation as needed.
  • Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, and employment documentation.
  • Support compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including filing, scanning, scheduling meetings, and ordering office supplies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in both recruiting and HR administration.
  • Manufacturing or industrial recruiting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting onboarding and general HR processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Experience using an HRIS is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-volume recruiting.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance.
  • Experience supporting payroll, benefits administration, or employee relations.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is ideal.
