Howl-O-Scream Scare Squad Performer

About the role

Join our team at Busch Gardens Williamsburg for Howl-O-Scream, celebrating over 25 years of spine-chilling excitement. Deliver terrifying chills and thrills as dusk descends and the creatures of the night awaken. Performers entertain guests in various ways, including actors, costumed characters, or specialty talent such as stilt-walking and bungee harness.

Responsibilities

• Provide top-notch quality product and guest service to seasoned guests and first-time visitors.
• Be a part of award-winning Scare-event performances while maintaining creative integrity.
• Participate in physical and vocal warmups and cool downs.
• Perform repetitive movement and vocalizations for the duration of long sets (multiple hours).
• Wear makeup and masks, and work in dark conditions, extreme temperatures, and around theatrical effects such as stage fog, lighting, and sound effects.
• Stand, sit, kneel, crawl, lay down, and/or jump repeatedly during shifts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must attend a live audition (no experience necessary).
• Be a team player with a positive attitude and great showmanship.
• Ability to tell a story through performance.
• Flexibility in schedule and availability for the duration of the event (Friday, September 11th - Sunday, November 1st).
• Must be comfortable working in physically demanding roles, including repetitive movements and vocalizations.
• Roles may be based on characteristics such as height, physical type, gender, and other attributes aligning with creative vision.

Pay

$15.00 - $16.00 USD per hour.
