This full-time, exempt position is based in Houston, TX with a schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Generate and maintain proposal-specific costing data.
- Obtain vendor/contractor quotes and collaborate with Application Engineers during proposal development.
- Cross-check quotations against project specifications to confirm compliance or request vendor revisions.
- Maintain proposal database and quote log files with pre-bid quote, project quote, and Project PO Data for EPC-related items, including:
- Civil works
- Concrete
- Mechanical Equipment Installation
- Piping Installation
- Site Fabricated Tanks
- Pipe Racks and Pipe Supports
- Building
- MEP Building works
- E & I Installation
- BOP Installation
- Develop EPC RFQs and verify supplier quotations against customer specifications for compliance.
- Prepare material estimates and labor man-hour estimates for installation activities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors.
- Manage bids from vendors and contractors and use bid data to prepare detailed cost analyses.
- Prepare estimates using estimating software such as RS Means & Sage (formerly Timberline) and Aspen Estimating software.
- Present prepared estimates to the Project Manager and Management.
- Compile and record actual costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferable.
- Minimum ten (10) or more years of experience working as an Estimator.
- Experience in estimation of Civil works, Mechanical Installation works (Heavy Industrial), Building works, MEP, and E & I Installation works.
- In-depth knowledge of labor costs per trade and by region/location.
- Hands-on experience with RS Means & Sage (formerly Timberline) estimating software.
- Proficiency in Aspen Estimating software.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Negotiation skills and experience with vendors/suppliers.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Proficient with SAP.

Physical Job Demands
- Lifting, carrying, moving, and exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or negligible force frequently.
- May need to climb ladders and work at heights; must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on site.
- Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods.
- Requires a high degree of concentration in a busy area.
