Houston 69 (Katy Park) Market - Perishables Rep - Part time

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service by taking orders in person or by telephone and answering product questions
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product daily
• Slice, package, label, and rotate products; scan items into Telxon for production
• Merchandise product effectively using suggestive selling techniques
• Make regular announcements about freshly-produced items and to increase sales
• Clean and sanitize display cases; operate and maintain equipment in compliance with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards

Aguas

• Peel, cut, and chop fresh fruits and vegetables
• Prepare fresh specialty drinks and food products specific to the Aguas department

Floral

• Design floral arrangements and provide a variety of fresh, quality products
• Design and execute merchandising programs; track seasonal records when appropriate

Market

• Cut, trim, and prepare meat for service counters and self-service areas
• Ensure proper product rotation and storage; maintain coolers and freezers
• Weigh, price, and package selections; operate power meat prep and processing equipment

Produce

• Stock and rotate product to ensure freshness
• Assist the floral department when needed
• Communicate product knowledge to customers by explaining and providing samples
• Cut, wrap, and price produce for the sales floor; maintain signing program

Seafood

• Maintain knowledge of various fish and shellfish
• Weigh, price, and package selections; maintain coolers and freezers

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• Customer service and communication skills
• Computer systems knowledge (Telxon, ACR, label machine)
• Strong reading, writing, planning, and organizing skills
• Completion of Company Orientation and Safety Training
