Houskeeping

Community Horizons is assisting a local neighbor in the search for an individual to support them in their home by providing light housekeeping and day-to-day assistance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others live safely, comfortably, and independently in their own home. You'll be joining a supportive, person-centered environment where respect, dignity, and clear communication are valued every day.

Responsibilities

• Light cleaning: dishes, sweeping, mopping, dusting, tidying, and organizing
• Laundry and linen changes
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment
• Assist with pet care if needed or be comfortable with animals (cats/dogs in the home)
• Follow the individual's preferred routines and communication style
• Encourage independence while offering support where needed
• Respect privacy, boundaries, and personal preferences

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient, and dependable
• Experience in caregiving, home care, or housekeeping preferred but not required
• Willingness to learn and follow self-directed services (SDS)
• Ability to lift, bend, and assist with mobility safely
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude
• Must pass background checks required by the program
• Valid license/reliable transportation

About the Organization

Community Horizons provides support to individuals and families enrolled in self-directed care programs across Wisconsin, including services through Managed Care Organizations, IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct), and the Children's Long-Term Support (CLTS) program. Self-direction allows participants to make their own choices in selecting who provides their care and how those services are delivered. While Community Horizons offers guidance and mentorship, we are not the employer of record. Participants and families make all hiring decisions, with a third-party fiscal agent handling payroll and employment paperwork. Our mission is to help individuals of all ages navigate self-directed care with connection, coordination, and compassion.
