About the Role

The Housing Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in St Petersburg, FL, responsible for supporting individuals and families in securing and maintaining stable housing. Day-to-day tasks include conducting housing assessments, developing individualized housing plans, and coordinating placements in appropriate affordable or supportive housing options.

The Housing Specialist will collaborate with property managers, landlords, and social service providers to address barriers to housing and ensure compliance with program guidelines. This role also involves ongoing case management, documentation in agency systems, and regular follow-up with program participants to monitor progress and promote long-term housing stability. The Housing Specialist will work closely with internal teams to connect participants with additional services such as employment support, financial counseling, and community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct housing assessments for individuals and families.
  • Develop individualized housing plans.
  • Coordinate placements in affordable or supportive housing options.
  • Collaborate with property managers, landlords, and social service providers to address housing barriers.
  • Ensure compliance with program guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing case management and documentation in agency systems.
  • Follow up with program participants to monitor progress and promote long-term housing stability.
  • Connect participants with additional services such as employment support, financial counseling, and community resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field.
  • 3-5 years experience working in the Housing/Property Management industry and/or realtor experience required.
  • Strong Case Management skills, including assessment, service planning, and ongoing participant support.
  • Knowledge of Social Housing and Affordable Housing programs, policies, and community resources.
  • Experience with Property Management coordination, including working with landlords and housing providers.
  • Background in Social Services, preferably supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.
  • Ability to work on-site in St Petersburg, with reliable transportation for local travel as needed.

Pay

$43,000 - $45,000 per year.
