Housing Counselor

About the role

NECAC Housing Counselors provide assistance to private housing landlords and guidance counseling to low and moderate income families, elderly, and handicapped clients in the multi-county area. You'll help applicants complete the required paperwork and necessary steps to obtain a housing voucher that will help them afford housing. Counselors are also responsible for developing and recruiting new landlords.

Responsibilities

• Assist private housing landlords with program requirements
• Guide low and moderate income families, elderly, and handicapped clients through the housing voucher process
• Help applicants complete required paperwork and steps to obtain housing vouchers
• Develop and recruit new landlords to participate in the program

Requirements

• At least one year of customer service experience
• At least one year of computer experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Good written and spoken communication skills
