Grade 4, full-time position (35 hours per week) with an annual salary range of $46,000–$58,000.
About the role
Primarily responsible for promoting asset-building, housing stability, and self-sufficiency by providing families or individual clients with financial and housing counseling and/or coaching related to financial, homeownership, and rental opportunities. Services are provided through one-on-one counseling sessions, mentoring/advocating, and group presentations.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial and housing counseling focused on rental opportunities, homeownership, financial education, or foreclosure prevention
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions and group presentations
- Mentor and advocate for clients to achieve housing stability and self-sufficiency
- Work some evenings and occasional weekends
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with two years of relevant experience, or master’s degree in social work or related field with one year of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 6 months work experience in housing, asset building, or financial capabilities
- Must pass the HUD Housing Counselor Certification Exam within 6 months of hire (if not already certified)
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
