Midas Hospitality is seeking a dependable, service-minded Houseperson to support our Housekeeping and Front Desk teams. This role helps maintain clean, welcoming public areas, assists with linen and trash removal, supports guest requests, and contributes to a safe, comfortable hotel environment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain public areas throughout the hotel, including restrooms, hallways, stairwells, foyers, elevators, lobby areas, parking lot, and grounds.
  • Vacuum, dust, polish, mop, sanitize surfaces, straighten furniture and décor, remove trash, and replace or remove newspapers and service trays according to hotel standards.
  • Remove soiled linen and trash from guest rooms and housekeeping carts throughout the shift and transport items to the appropriate locations.
  • Clean corridor walls, floors, doors, mirrors, guest room number signs, elevator doors, and elevator tracks.
  • Report lost and found items according to hotel procedures.
  • Assist guests with directions, information, amenities, supplies, and other service requests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Report guest concerns or complaints to the appropriate team member or leader to support timely service recovery.
  • Notify Maintenance of repair needs, safety concerns, or hotel issues.
  • Support Housekeeping and Front Desk operations as needed, including delivering cribs or rollaway beds, transporting supplies, assisting with room readiness, and completing special assignments.
  • Follow standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and security practices to help maintain a safe, accident-free workplace.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects assigned by hotel leadership.

Requirements

  • No prior hotel experience is required; previous housekeeping, janitorial, cleaning, or hospitality experience is helpful.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and hotel procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, clients, and team members in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using money, weight measurements, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced hotel environment.
  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Physical Requirements

  • Regular standing and walking, frequent bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, and repetitive use of hands.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move at least 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • May involve occasional exposure to loud noise, outdoor areas, and temperature changes while supporting hotel operations.
