About the Role

Join the team at Alila Marea Beach Resort, nestled seamlessly into the picturesque bluffs of Encinitas. As a Houseperson, you'll assist Room Attendants, maintain cleanliness, and support guest services in a beautiful coastal community.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Hyatt Hotels Corporation guidelines and core values to ensure the health, safety and comfort of colleagues and guests.
• Strip guest rooms that are designated as a departure.
• Stock all guest rooms that are designated as a departure with new linen, terry, and water.
• Maintain the cleanliness of guest corridors.
• Maintain and organize the Housekeeping back of house closets.
• Stock linen in closets.
• Stock all guest room amenities in closets.
• Empty out trash from back of house closets.
• Deliver guest request items within the Forbes service standards and guidelines.
• Collect all dirty linen from the guest floors.
• Sort specialty items to be washed in house, and brought to the Housekeeping area.
• Place all terry and linen in a camper to be moved to the back of house hallway to be sent out.
• Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
• Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years previous experience in housekeeping, laundry, and/or janitorial services (preferred).
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner.

Physical Demands

• Frequent: Standing and walking during entire shift.
• Kneeling, squatting, and bending constantly.
• Pushing up to 50lbs.
• Pulling, lifting, carrying, or otherwise moving up to 20lbs.
• Frequent use of hand, wrist, and other manual dexterity in use throughout shift.
• Exposure to EAP approved cleaning chemicals, dust, and smells.
• Occasional: Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
• Interacting with guests (speaking, listening, writing).

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $22.00. This is the pay range for this position that Alila Marea reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
