About the role
The Houseperson/Floor Technician supports the mission, vision, and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting company culture and vision. This position requires competency using floor cleaning machines, maintaining outdoor cleanliness, and performing various cleaning tasks in assigned areas.
Responsibilities
- Able to demonstrate competency using the floor cleaning machines.
- Maintains first impressions of the grounds outside by blowing and maintaining cleanliness of outdoor patio areas.
- Cleans outdoor furniture and cushions following preventative schedule.
- Cleans and maintains assigned areas including public areas such as hallways, elevators, and exterior of the building on the 1st floor.
- Cleans restrooms, including counters, mirrors, sinks, lavatories, and fixtures in apartments and common areas.
- Vacuums carpeted areas and mops tile floors.
- Spot cleans walls and windows.
- Dusts furniture and empties trashcans.
- Cleans baseboards, pictures, lights, and HVAC vents.
- Assists with activity room set-ups, which could require movement of furniture.
- Performs duties requested by management to ensure efficient and effective operation of the Community.
- Completes all mandatory compliance, HIPAA, and state and federal regulatory training as required.
- Other duties as assigned by your director.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year housekeeping experience preferred.
- General knowledge of housekeeping.
- Ability to use all required equipment.
- Must have excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills, and time management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and vendors.
- Must work well within a team as well as independently.
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Performs other duties consistent with the position as assigned.
Physical Qualifications
- Walk/Stand – must be able to continuously walk and stand.
- Environment Condition – must be able to perform work both inside and outside.
- Sit – sit infrequently.
- Lift – constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds.
- Carry – constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds.
- Push – constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds.
- Climb – must be able to climb stairs on a frequent basis, with the opportunity to utilize the elevator as an alternate resource if available.
- Bend – must be able to bend at the waist, knees, hips, and spine on a frequent basis, may require frequently manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
- Squat – must be able to squat on a frequent basis to reach below the knee, may require lifting of 50 pounds or less.
- Twist or rotate – must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck while manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
- Reach – must be able to reach on a frequent basis. May occasionally reach overhead, requiring manipulation of weight of 10 pounds or less, and below waist manipulating weight of 25 pounds or more.
- Sensory Vision – must be able to read clearly with or without corrective lenses.
- Hear – Must be able to hear telephone, audible alarms, bells, and signals related to resident safety with or without hearing devices.
- Speech/Language – must have strong command of English sufficient to read and write and interpret administration information.
Salary
$17-$19/hour
