Job Summary:

As a member of the Bartolotta Catering Team, the Houseman day-to-day responsibilities will vary based on the needs of the business but will include a range of areas outlined below.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set-up and take down of Banquet Rooms according to function specifications
  • Confer with guests and clients to determine event requirements
  • Aid in transporting heavy materials such as staging, tables, and chairs to the event space
  • Check and appropriately adjust temperature and lights and ensure electric hookups are working
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the areas during and after events

  • Strong customer service and hospitality industry mindset
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple projects
  • Must successfully function as a team player in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment, working cooperatively with all levels of employees

Typical Physical Demands

  • May require prolonged periods of standing
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Walking and standing on multiple surfaces including, but not limited to, carpeting, stone or concrete, or kitchen tiling, some with potentially slick surfaces
  • Position dictates working in a fast-paced environment and subject to flexible and or irregular hours, including some late nights and weekends
