Position Overview
Western State Hospital is seeking a full time Housekeeping Worker to provide a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Western State Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure bathrooms and shower rooms are cleaned daily
- Ensure all trash removed daily
- Floors are mopped daily
- Walls and ceilings are cleaned as needed
- Dush mop and wet mop floors daily
- Remove trash buffing weekly

Minimum Qualifications
- General knowledge in cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, dayrooms, floor finishings, and cleaning/operating housekeeping equipment
- General skills in cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, dayrooms, floor finishings, and cleaning/operating housekeeping equipment
- Read, write, perform basic math calculations, lift heavy objects, prolonged standing, walking on various surfaces, climb ladders, work on knees, and work in various conditions
Additional Considerations
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Experience in housekeeping
- Valid Virginia Driver's license
- Bilingual
- Veteran or veteran spouse
