Housekeeping Supervisor - Full Time - Harrah's Gulf Coast

Responsibilities

• Inspects guest rooms to ensure the highest cleaning standards are met.
• Communicates with Guest Room Attendants (GRAs) when rooms are not cleaned to standard; inspects the re-cleaning of the room.
• Train/Re-trains GRAs on standard operating procedures.
• Expedites and oversees special requests from the Supervisor.
• Participates in department meetings.
• Leads by example on providing superior customer service.
• Maintains attendance guidelines and adheres to departmental and company policies.
• Accurately completes room inspection sheets.
• Communicates employees' concerns to supervisors.
• Makes sure room assignments for early checkouts are monitored and distributed.
• Ensures the completion of daily inspection goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years hotel housekeeping operations experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, team building, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer software knowledge (Word and Excel) is preferred.
• Ability to lead, guide, direct, develop, and motivate people at all levels.
• Good understanding and working knowledge of chemicals and cleaning supplies and technique/equipment, including MSDS, OSHA, etc. guidelines.
• Fluency in English, bilingual helpful (Spanish).
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and work independently.
• Willingness to work any day and shift.
• Good grooming and appearance.
• Ability to perform physical job duties of line employees in emergency situations.
• Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English.
• Ability to stoop, bend, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to maneuver in hotel/casino areas, up and down stairs, and reach above shoulder level.
• Good finger movement and rotating wrist motion.
• Ability to tolerate cleaning chemicals without developing an allergic reaction.
• Ability to work in areas containing second-hand smoke.
• Ability to operate various equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, computers, copy machines, typewriters, mops, and brooms.
