Responsibilities
- Conduct beginning and ending shift meetings with the department along with delegating job duties
- Conduct interviews, hire staff members, and provide orientation and training to new employees
- Coordinate the scheduling of department employees with the lead’s input
- Inspect work performed in housekeeping and laundry to ensure it meets specifications and established standards while maintaining communication with staff members to promote adherence to processes and effective performance
- Perform a variety of housekeeping, cleaning and disinfecting services in a manner that maintains high standards
- Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control
- Move furniture and other heavy objects for routine & non-routine cleaning and when assisting in patient moves
- Use equipment properly and arrange for repairs when needed
- Exhibit a professional demeanor and ensure the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information at all times
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Two years’ experience in housekeeping or a related service industry is preferred
- Supervision / leadership experience is needed
- You must be able to prioritize work activities, demonstrate flexibility, and function as a team player
- You must be flexible and available when emergency situations require non-standard staffing
