Housekeeping Supervisor| Full Time | Environmental Services

Responsibilities

• Conduct beginning and ending shift meetings with the department along with delegating job duties
• Conduct interviews, hire staff members, and provide orientation and training to new employees
• Coordinate the scheduling of department employees with the lead’s input
• Inspect work performed in housekeeping and laundry to ensure it meets specifications and established standards while maintaining communication with staff members to promote adherence to processes and effective performance
• Perform a variety of housekeeping, cleaning and disinfecting services in a manner that maintains high standards
• Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control
• Move furniture and other heavy objects for routine & non-routine cleaning and when assisting in patient moves
• Use equipment properly and arrange for repairs when needed
• Exhibit a professional demeanor and ensure the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information at all times

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• Two years’ experience in housekeeping or a related service industry is preferred
• Supervision / leadership experience is needed
• You must be able to prioritize work activities, demonstrate flexibility, and function as a team player
• You must be flexible and available when emergency situations require non-standard staffing
