About the Role

As an EVS Associate - Public at BILH, you perform daily cleaning tasks in patient areas, offices, public spaces, and other non-patient areas. This role includes daily cleaning, equipment cleaning, and project cleaning in assigned areas. You will be a respectful and compassionate member of the healthcare team, interacting with customers in various environments such as public areas/restrooms, outpatient clinics, office spaces, research labs, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Performs multiple-step cleaning procedures, including daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, discharge bed making, wall and glass care.
  • Continues work from the previous shift and reports incomplete assignments and maintenance issues.
  • Performs dry mopping and wet mopping of common areas using appropriate equipment, including floor care machines.
  • Responds to stat orders such as discharges, spills, floods, and hospital-wide emergency drills.
  • Cleans up organic body waste (e.g., blood, feces, sputum, urine).
  • Cleans patient equipment, including IV poles, commodes, monitors, cables, specialty equipment, stretchers, wheelchairs, and cardiac chairs.
  • Assists in moves, special set-ups, and other tasks as needed.
  • Collects solid and contaminated waste, seals boxes, and delivers them to designated areas and compactors.
  • Uses department procedures for preparing and selecting cleaning solutions.
  • Reports low inventory supplies to supervisors and/or team leaders.
  • Signs equipment in and out of designated storage areas and keeps the housekeeping cart clean, stocked, and orderly.
  • Delivers soiled mops, cleaning cloths, and linen to designated areas.
  • Reports observed hazards and malfunctioning equipment to supervisors and/or team leaders.
  • Adheres to Infection Control, Safety, and Environmental/Transport Department policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates ability to respond appropriately to internal and external disaster drills.
  • Participates in departmental training activities and meetings.

Requirements

  • Some high school education required.
  • 0-1 years of related work experience.
  • Basic familiarity with computers and ability to navigate web-based applications.

Physical Demands

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. The job is physical, requiring standing and/or moving around for the majority of the shift.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.88 per hour. Actual compensation is determined based on factors such as seniority, education, training, relevant experience, certifications, geography, job responsibilities, and other applicable factors. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime, and other additional pay practices.
