Housekeeping - PRN

About the role

Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Emptying waste baskets; sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
• Clean patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met
• Wear proper protective equipment following appropriate guidelines
• Keep storage, equipment and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
• Use pagers and other technology appropriately when needed
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate
• May have access to use technology applications depending upon location and availability of programs

Physical requirements

• Considerable use of arms and legs and moving of whole body; such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40-50lbs and push/pull up variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps
• On feet for majority of shift
• May be exposed to certain levels of noise with equipment in operation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred

Schedule

• 8 Hours - Day Shifts
• PRN (as needed)
• Weekly Hours: Varies
• Work hours will vary depending on patient/resident needs; may include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays

Pay

$15.00 - $17.00
