Housekeeping/Linen Worker-Environmental Services-Mount Sinai Rivington-Part Time, Days, Weekends and Holidays

About the role

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Housekeeping/Linen Worker for Environmental Services at Mount Sinai Rivington. This position is part-time, working days, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, maintains and supplies assigned patient and non-patient areas according to standardized procedures of the department.
• Prepares cleaning solutions, housekeeping supplies and equipment as assigned.
• Dusts, cleans furniture, windowsills, light fixtures, vents, ledges, blinds, shades, radiators, doors and frames, moldings, windows, lights, clocks, signs, cabinets and any other areas which accumulate dust and/or soil.
• Cleans bathrooms, fixtures, pipes, tile walls, metals, partitions and attachments, replenishes soap and paper supplies as needed or instructed.
• Hangs and/or removes cubicle curtains, drapes, shades and blinds, moves furniture, equipment and supplies.
• Follows established procedures in performing all tasks.
• Maintains compliance with OSHA/JCAHO standards.
• Delivers patient clothing for indigent patients.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in institutional cleaning is preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of cleaning solutions, housekeeping supplies and equipment.
• Ability to follow established procedures.
• Ability to operate equipment safely.
• Ability to maintain compliance with OSHA/JCAHO standards.
