Lead daily housekeeping operations, supervise a dedicated team of housekeepers, and help ensure our beautiful campus remains clean, welcoming, and comfortable for all who live and work here. This position offers a consistent 40-hour workweek with 8-hour day shifts, providing stability and work-life balance.
About the Role
Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Lead Housekeeper supports and oversees daily housekeeping functions within their assigned areas. This includes hands-on work, team leadership, and quality control to ensure the highest standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Successfully perform all functions of the designated area of responsibility (e.g., Laundry, Housekeeping).
- Conduct quality control inspections as assigned.
- Perform routine procedures of a maintenance and corrective nature within assigned area of responsibility.
- Advise Supervisor of supplies, chemicals, and equipment needs or concerns.
- Work independently with limited supervision.
- Train with the Supervisor in job duties to prepare for possible future open positions.
- Conduct training of new personnel.
- Utilize and maintain equipment properly.
- Adjust to changing situations and needs.
- Participate in other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, which you are qualified for and can reasonably be expected to complete with minimal orientation.
- Follow all Infection Control practices, including hand washing techniques, standard precautions, isolation precautions, and safety precautions at all times.
- Demonstrate personal responsibility and respect for self and others.
- Adhere to all Department policies, procedures, and mandatory requirements.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with residents, staff, family members, and guests.
- Maintain age-specific safety precautions, including:
- Ensuring no small or sharp objects/tools that may injure residents or visitors are left out.
- Not leaving cleaning carts unattended.
- Keeping hallways and pathways clear of debris, cleaning equipment, and tools.
- Ensuring Environmental Service closets remain locked at all times.
