Housekeeping/Laundry Position *Day Hours*(Part Time)

About the role

The Housekeeping/Laundry Position is available on a part-time, day shift basis at Thomas Rest Haven, a city-owned skilled nursing and assisted living facility.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident rooms, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and tidying of the area
• Change resident bed linens and washes bed on a routine basis
• Clean shower room, public restrooms, employee break room, lounges, offices, smoke room, physical therapy room and all other common areas of the facility on a routine basis except for the dietary kitchen and laundry areas
• Wash windows, glass doors, light fixtures, walls, pipes, heat registers, and waste containers as assigned
• Clean carpet as assigned
• Clean closets and storage areas as assigned
• Sorting and cleaning all laundry in accordance with standard procedures
• Inspecting and repairing damaged linens, towels, or other items which are routinely laundered
• Pre-treat fabrics as necessary
• Understand and operate laundry equipment for cleaning of the facility linens
• Transfer items from the washing facility to the drying facility
• Remove items from the dryer
• Hanging finished garments on hangers where appropriate, and/or folding or stacking garments
• Stock linen carts for hallways and shower rooms
• Deliver resident clothing and other laundered items to resident rooms
• Clean closets and storage areas as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must possess the ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral instructions in English
• High school education or GED is preferred, but not required
• Must be at least 16 years old
