Housekeeping /Laundry Aide per diem

About the Role

The Housekeeping Aide provides quality housekeeping services, ensuring a clean, orderly, and safe environment for all facility residents and staff. This role involves cleaning assigned areas of the facility—including resident rooms and bathrooms—on a scheduled basis to meet high standards of cleanliness, infection control, safety, and hazardous communication. The Housekeeping Aide plans efficient use of time, cooperates with all other staff, and performs responsibilities with minimal disruption to residents and staff. Additional duties include maintaining a clean work area, assisting in supply management, and supporting department operations.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, and other assigned areas according to scheduled routines and department instructions.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and safety in compliance with facility protocols.
• Plan and execute work efficiently to minimize disruption to residents and staff.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and department.
• Assist in maintaining adequate supplies for department operations.
• Lift and move furniture and heavy items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Requirements

• Ability to read labels and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and take appropriate action.
• Ability to visually assess all aspects of the facility.
• Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures and to hear and respond to pages.
• Physical ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, grasp, pull, stretch, stoop, and demonstrate fine hand coordination.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing approximately 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility.
