About the Role

To inspect rooms and public areas, corridors to maintain high standards of cleanliness. The Hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, requiring flexibility in shift days, starting times, and hours worked per week. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect VIP rooms, guest rooms, and corridors for cleanliness and appearance.
  • Prepare work orders for shampooers to clean carpets and supply room attendants to maintain par stock in closets.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed within the shift.
  • Report maintenance deficiencies in guest rooms and corridors via work orders.
  • Telephone emergency maintenance issues (e.g., overflowing toilets, broken pipes, lights out, broken mirrors or windows) to the maintenance department.
  • Expedite special guest requests, such as extra towels, blankets, or pillows.
  • Open and close the Housekeeping Department; turn in all lost and found items and guest room keys.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety, and security procedures and rules.
  • Know and follow department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Utilize protective equipment and report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, or property damage to management.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per team member handbook standards.
  • Perform related duties as requested by management and assist other Housekeeping Personnel when needed.

Requirements

  • High School education preferred; college degree in Hospitality and Hotel Management is a plus.
  • Minimum six months of inspector experience or one year of comparable housekeeping experience.
  • Ability to read and write English to complete forms such as room status reports.
  • Ability to provide clear direction, instruction, and guidance to subordinates.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and implement control over subordinate performance.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with diverse individuals, provide information, and answer questions.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand, and walk continuously.
  • Capable of pushing carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum.
  • Frequent standing and walking for long periods, including twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
