Housekeeping Houseperson

The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel, including guest hallways, elevator landings, and linen closets. This role requires good communication skills and the ability to lift, pull, and push heavy amounts of weight consistently.
Responsibilities
- Keeps the service landings clean and organized.
- Removes trays from the guest floors.
- Keeps corridors on guest room floors clean.
- Maintains cleanliness of stairwells.
- Dusts baseboards and pictures in guest corridors daily.
- Ensures all guest room doors are free of scuff marks.
- Keeps ice machine rooms clean.
- Cleans guest elevator landings.
- Moves furniture upon request.
- Completes guest requests promptly.
- Maintains a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensures hotel guests and associates are maintained in a safe and secure environment.
- Stocks assigned service landing closets at proper linen and supply par levels.
- Empties guest room linens on an hourly basis or as needed.
- Empties guest room garbage on an hourly basis or as needed.
- Communicates with guest room attendants and assists with stripping guest rooms.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- Ability to perform all houseperson-related tasks and proficiently use job-related tools and equipment.
- Ability to remain calm in various situations, use sound judgment, and effectively solve problems.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedural manuals.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, prioritize, and multi-task.
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to lift, push, and pull heavy amounts of weight consistently.
- Open availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and climb.
Work Environment
- Must be comfortable working in a shared space with constant noise and without the use of a private office.
- Able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with optimism, professionalism, and collaboration.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to:
- See, hear, reach, and use fingers to handle and feel.
- Stand, stoop, bend, and crouch for up to 8 hours daily.
- Push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
