Housekeeping - FT Day

About the role

This position works Monday through Friday on the day shift and has weekends and holidays off.

Responsibilities

• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors, and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.
• Clean patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas to meet health standards.
• Wear proper protective equipment following appropriate guidelines.
• Keep storage areas, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Use pagers and other technology appropriately when needed.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use a computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Considerable use of arms and legs and moving of whole body, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40–50 lbs and push/pull variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps.
• On feet for the majority of the shift.
• May be exposed to certain levels of noise with equipment in operation.

Pay

Salary range: $11.41 – $17.00 per hour.
