Housekeeping/Custodial Worker - Sequoyah State Park Lodge

About the role

Under general supervision, Housekeeping Staff work with the housekeeping department and laundry facility to perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks at Sequoyah Lodge, a state park lodge with 150 lodging accommodations, including lodge rooms, suites, cottages, a lakehouse cottage, and a bunkhouse.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, mop, scrub, wash, vacuum, wax, and polish building floors, walls, woodwork, windows, furniture, equipment, and hardware
• Clean and sanitize lavatories, washrooms, and bedrooms; keep washrooms stocked with paper, towels, and soap
• Collect and dispose of trash and garbage; move equipment and furniture such as beds, tables, and chairs
• Perform sanitary inspections in designated areas for infection control
• Replace and remove medically contaminated sharps and/or medically soiled and contaminated dressings and supplies
• Observe and report safety violations; actively participate in emergencies
• Maintain necessary records and prepare required reports
• Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Must be at least 18 years or older
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license required to operate state-owned vehicles
• Successful completion of a background check

No prior experience required. Training will be provided for advanced tasks, such as disposal of restricted or environmentally hazardous materials.

Pay

Starting pay: $15.00/hr. After successful completion of a one-year trial period, pay may increase to $15.45/hr.
