Housekeeping Coordinator
About the role
The Housekeeping Coordinator under the supervision of the Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Executive Housekeeper, is responsible for assigning daily assignments to Room Attendants, Supervisors, and Housemen. They also manage VIP guests and special requests.
Responsibilities
- Read the log book, follow through special requests, check traces reports, and ensure they are completed.
- Prepare and assign room attendant sections, highlight VIPs and special requests on assignment sheets.
- Prepare Supervisor assignments and ensure necessary reports are ready.
- Retrieve special attention and VIP guest lists and provide to Supervisors, and give special requests to Supervisors.
- Prepare Houseman assignment sheets and highlight any special requests for guest rooms or VIP guest arrivals.
- Answer all calls using correct etiquette and delegate tasks to appropriate departments or colleagues.
- Use HOTSOS system to report and assign issues to other professionals in the department.
- Be aware of pending rooms and assign them to Supervisors immediately.
- Rush rooms as needed by the Front Desk and call Supervisors if many rooms need inspection.
- Communicate refuse service, late service, and pick-ups to the PM Coordinator and Manager.
- Run backup reports as instructed in case the system goes down.
- File paperwork as given by the Manager.
- Write information in the pass-on log.
- Closely monitor and close out shifts as instructed and file all shift reports.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- One year plus of previous experience.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Aptitude to promote minimum levels of skills and abilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain a safe working environment according to OSHA regulations.
- Attention to detail, speed accuracy, and follow-through.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Teamwork and ability to set up and organize workstation with designated supplies and equipment.
- Restock work areas for the next shift as assigned.
- Successfully complete the training and certification process for this position.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift twenty-five (25) lbs throughout the day.
- Sit/stand for long periods of time.
- Monitor conditions of uniforms.
- Report faulty equipment, uniform shortages, maintenance needs, and safety hazards immediately to the supervisor.
- Restock work areas for the next shift as assigned.
- Successfully complete the training and certification process for this position.
