Responsibilities
- Cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas, including:
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, washing, and moving items
- Polishing and cleaning furniture, walls, partitions, air vents, and ceiling fixtures
- Disinfecting and deodorizing toilet bowls, lavatories, and other bathroom areas
- Washing and replacing window treatments
- Changing light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds
- Cleaning kitchen areas, including stoves, ovens, microwaves, refrigerators, cabinets, and floors
- Washing and disinfecting dishes, utensils, and cookware
- Cleaning and ensuring functionality of luggage racks, hangers, TVs, alarm clocks, and in-room phones
- Placing proper number of amenities in rooms, including consumables and non-consumables
- Removing and replacing bed linen, inspecting mattresses, and repositioning beds
- Operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, waxers, and polishers
- Greet and welcome guests while maintaining outstanding guest relations and ensuring privacy and security
- Cleans corridors, stairways, guest laundry, patios, and balconies
- Shampoos rugs, carpets, and polishes stairway rails
- Performs deep cleaning tasks, including defrosting refrigerators, cleaning windows, and treating carpets
- Maintains cleanliness and order of storage rooms
- Communicates the status of cleaned rooms to supervisors through daily assignments or property management systems
- Accomplishes minor repairs and maintenance of equipment; reports major repair needs to supervisors
- Cleans and inspects exterior spaces such as parking lots and outside passageways
- May load and unload trucks/vans and assist with receipt, storage, and delivery of supplies
- Responsible for pass keys and other assigned keys; reports lost keys immediately
- Reports unusual circumstances such as unauthorized pets, extra guests, or missing luggage to supervisors
- Handles lost and found items, reporting them to the housekeeping supervisor
- May set up, maintain, and clean the complimentary self-service breakfast bar, including food handling and safety protocols
- Completes all required safety and security training, including knowledge of blood-borne pathogens and safety measures
- Follows all NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG) protocols during daily service activity
- Performs laundry operations at the facility
- May be required to travel to other lodging facilities within the scope of duties (valid state driver’s license may be required)
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- No experience required; high school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Moderate physical effort, including moving furniture and using hand or lightweight powered cleaning equipment
- May be required to obtain NHG housekeeping certification within 6 months of employment
- May be required to work a rotating schedule to accommodate business needs
